Join your African Timeout guide when you are collected from your hotel and travel through the city of Johannesburg depicting the decadent English colonial gold rush era. The tour proceeds to SOWETO to expose you to the melting pot of cultures caused by apartheid. We visit Mandela's family museum, walk the start of the route of June 16 and visit the Hector Petersen museum. The colourful vibrant streets of Soweto allow you to see the progress made in South Africa. A lunch at one of the shebeen restaurants gives you a relaxing moment to mix with other visitors and to meet the locals.

Lesedi cultural village The drive through the middleclass western suburbs will take you to Lesedi cultural village where you will be checking into a village hut for your overnight experience. Lesedi is an experience of 5 South African cultures Ndebele, Pedi, Zulu, Xhosa and Basotho, see the difference in living style and get to know the South African cultures. After visiting the villages you are treated to an eye feast of tribal dancing that will warm your blood for the great Nyama Choma feast. Your guide will bid you great evening to join up with you after breakfast the following day.

Our aim of the day is to explore the culture and heritage of the Afrikaner and Voortrekkers (pioneers) whom settled in the late 1830’s in the Pretoria area by visiting the Voortrekker monument and historical areas in Pretoria. Lunch is served In the tranquil setting of a bird sanctuary.The tour ends late afternoon with a drop off at your convenience
